In Case You Didn't Know ...
Approximately one third of all American butterflies are skippers. Their name comes from skipping quickly from one flower to another. Their broad heads and relatively short wings, combined with a bend in the club end of their antenna sets this family apart from other butterflies.
Individual species of these little butterflies can be difficult to tell apart unless you factor in range maps to narrow down your choices to what is expected in your local area.
