In Case You Didn't Know ...Species Description:
- large posterior median eyes, with posterior lateral eyes well behind
- females attach egg-sac to their spinnerets
- usually do not build webs; some burrow
- Habitat: widespread
- Size: 3-35 mm
These spiders are best distinguished from other ground spiders by noting that two of their eight eyes are much larger than their other eyes.
Wolf spiders also can be distinguished by noting that they carry their egg sacs attached to their spinnerets.
